Irix brand enhances Edge filter range with Black Mist series
Black Mist filters are a tool popularly used in the film and photography industry to create a soft haze or blur effect. They are popular with filmmakers who want to give their productions a special atmosphere or romantic mood.
Black Mist filters work by scattering light and lowering contrast, based on excessive interference with the darker parts of the image. This results in a distinctive effect. They create a subtle halo around light sources, such as lamps or the sun. This effect is achieved thanks to the special design of the filter, which effectively disperses the light while maintaining image sharpness.
Key features:
- Designed to reduce contrast and overall light intensity
- Reduce the visibility of skin defects when taking portraits
- Made of high quality optical glass with aluminum alloy frame
- Nano-coating: 18 anti-reflective layers on each side with waterproof, oilproof and anti-static top layer
- SR series - reinforced tempered glass for extraordinary resistance
Three different intensities (1/2, ¼ and 1/8) are available, allowing creatives to choose the desired effect according to their artistic vision. They can be used with a variety of lenses, both in photography and filming, providing creative control over the atmosphere and mood of an image.
The use of the highest quality optical glass additionally coated with 18st anti-reflective coatings on each side allows to maintain the highest possible image quality. At the same time, glass tempering (SR) technology makes it extremely resistant to damage. Additional waterproof and oil-resistant NANO coating prevents stains, fingerprints and allows use in extreme weather conditions.
Black Mist filters by Irix Edge are available in both a traditional screw-in version with diameters ranging from 49mm to 95mm and a magnetic MMS version - dedicated to Irix film lenses.
